Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992)
After the world premiere of DER BLAUE ENGEL (1930), Marlene Dietrich followed her director Josef von Sternberg to Hollywood. She made a career for herself, surrounded by friends and lovers, and played leading and supporting roles in 52 films. In 1978 she withdrew from the public eye. In 1992 she died in Paris and was buried in Berlin, her hometown. Every phase of her life is documented in her personal estate. Photos, costumes, props, letters, documents. And it was a political life.
